wikiHow with Natalie: How do you create a luxe look for less?

Individuals that score high as a Polished style personality gravitate toward luxe looks. Think monochromatic dressing in different fabrics and textures, thoughtful accessorizing, and having an overall neat and meticulous appearance. An “expensive” look doesn’t mean you have to break the bank. There are a few easy things you can do to look luxe without having a lot of monetary wealth the spend on your style.

Tip 1: No matter what you purchase, make sure it fits well. Even if you do not have a lot of money to invest, I would suggest allocating some of your resources to good tailoring. For example, a well-fitting inexpensive suit will help an individual look much more magnetic and stately than an ill-fitting expensive suit.

Tip 2: Another tip is to avoid logos, that way your clothes and personal style will speak first and you won't call attention to brands or any status associated with them—as logo-free clothing comes across as more polished and refined.

Tip 3: Don’t forget the details. Coordinating the finishing touches to your outfits sends the message that you are detail-oriented and thoughtful. Some tips for this are tying a coordinating scarf around your handbag handle or matching the colors in your socks to your tie or shirt pattern.

Tip 4: Finally, take proper care of your clothing. Make sure your outfits are steamed or ironed, your sweaters are de-pilled using a sweater comb, your shoes are properly shined and reinforced with shoe trees when you are not wearing them.
